I remember Saturday September 14th, 2014 being quiet and beautiful. When I arrived at Waldenwoods Resort in rural Hartland, soft sunlight surrounded the vast wooded venue. A light mist hovered on top of the lake, reflecting the proverbial 'calm' before the wonderful 'storm' of arriving guests, celebrating families, and loud cheers for the happy couple.
Inside the plantation-style lodge at the edge of the water, the Bride and her ladies were readying themselves for the day with hair, makeup, fancy clothes and of course...lots of coffee. Meanwhile, the groom and his men were just beginning to stir in a neighboring cottage further down the shoreline.
The ceremony...or shall I say 'ceremonies'...were intimate and gorgeous. The first, held on an upper balcony of the lodge overlooking the water, was attended by only the closest of family and friends. This moment celebrated the signing of the couple's Ketubah, an important marriage ritual honoring the Jewish faith and rich family heritage of the Bride and Groom. The second ceremony, set with pristine white chairs, giant white dahlias and satin lilac ribbons was open to all guests and was held out on the main lawn overlooking the lake.
At the conclusion of the ceremonies, the Bride and Groom invited their loved ones to enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres out on the grass...a casual and welcoming time, accompanied by the light sound of laughing chatter and a classic and beautiful string quartet.
Dinner soon followed in the great room of the lodge, capped at each end by two enormous stone fireplaces, decorated with personal details and glowing lights hanging from the exposed beams adorning the ceiling. So what can be the perfect finishing touch to the perfect day? The answer is...an incredible orange and pink sunset, a gift only given by mother nature herself.
Where are they now?
Catherine and Eitan, who settled in the Brighton area of Southeast Michigan after relocating from New York, spend their time enjoying a rich social life surrounded by family and friends. Catherine, originally a Howell native and a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in economics, works as a Financial Advisor for her family's wealth management firm, Morgan Stanley; whereas Eitan, travels daily to Catherine's alma mater, working as Physical Therapist at University of Michigan's world renowned health system.
Catherine and Eitan, even though it has been over a year since your amazing Wedding, I will always and forever remember every detail clearly...and with a huge smile on my face. It has been amazing to get to know both of you throughout and after your Wedding and I am honored to now be able to call you 'friends' as well as 'clients'. I wish you both an incredible life together full of happiness and constant joy...and I look forward to more evenings of board games, cheese balls and Russian parties in the future!
My love to you both!

"Hiring Festoons and Flourishes to coordinate our wedding was the best decision we made. Ashley was absolutely wonderful to work with every step of the way. She made sure we got every detail just the way we wanted and executed all those little details perfectly on the big day. On the day of our wedding were able to relax and simply celebrate with our friends and family without worrying about decorations, issues with vendors, problems with guests, etc. As far as we were concerned, everything went as smoothly as could be. I would highly recommend Ashley for any future event- her professionalism, attention to detail and true passion for her clients sets her apart. Thanks to Ashley, we had the wedding of our dreams and we will be forever grateful to her."
