"As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen." - Winnie the Pooh
On a beautiful day in September, the Howell Opera House was waiting for its Guests to arrive. In the empty ballroom, an ocean of tables laid with beautiful blue and white linens, golden lanterns and royal blue wine bottles glittered with the soft glow of candlelight. Vintage travel posters adorned the exposed brick walls, while kraft paper Thank You notes had been lovingly written and tucked into each Guests' napkin, serving as a warm welcome and tribute to the village of people that had helped the couple reach this incredible day. Out in the front vestibule, a globe (serving as the couple's very unique Guest Book) and large letters spelling out the word EXPLORE decorated the front windows, setting the tone for the evening and its festivities from the first step in.
While the Opera House lay in wait for the dinner and dancing to come, Sarah Johnson and Ryan McCollough were saying 'I do' in a place close to the Bride's own heart. Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartland, complete with tiled floors, towering ceilings and shining stained glass windows, had been part of Sarah's family as long as she could remember...a perfect place to become husband and wife. Surrounded by their closest Family and Friends, the couple spoke their vows, exchanged their rings and sealed their union with a kiss, walking out of the sanctuary to rousing applause and shouts of joy.
Where are they now?
After their Wedding, Sarah and Ryan settled in the Northville area of Southeast Michigan, a perfect location in the midst of great restaurants, bustling cities and beautiful countryside. Sarah, who works in Detroit for a Safety Flooring company, is an amazing Jill of all trades, specializing in Sales and often found traveling around the country. Ryan, who's heart also lies with travel, works as an Accountant out of the Ann Arbor area...that is, when he isn't rooting for his favorite sports teams or partaking in the sports himself.
Sarah and Ryan...thank you for giving Festoons and Flourishes the honor to be part of your amazing Wedding. We wish you an incredible marriage with many blessings as you walk through life hand in hand...but most of all, we wish you a GREAT LOVE...which is the biggest and best adventure of them all.

"Ashley was exceedingly professional in every aspect of her Coordination services, from when we first met at a bridal event to correspondence beyond our wedding day. Her attention to detail and efficiency were evident throughout the planning process, and truly seamless the day of our wedding. We sought her out for reception Coordination services at the Howell Opera House and were beyond impressed, hiring Ashley was one of the best investments of our wedding budget and wasn't even on our radar when we began! The “homework” assignments she tasked me with helped me re-prioritize when I was getting bogged down with the stress that comes with planning a wedding in under five months.
The most challenging aspect of planning for me was compiling the timeline of events for the day of the wedding. Her confident guidance and plethora of experience made this painful task seem like an easy puzzle to fit together. The completed itinerary impressed all of our vendors, especially our Photographers who knew what to expect from the time they arrived on location…and they helped us stick to the schedule, as it was so intricate that our timeline seemingly flowed with precision. I was also able to share all of the months of detailed planning with our Bridal Party & immediate family members in advance so they knew where they were expected at all times; it not only was a relief for me, but they all appreciated having this information at their fingertips so as not to stumble on any surprises as the blur of our wedding day passed by.
Ashley was the perfect “shadow” in the room at our reception, invisible to our guests, but so easy for us or members of our Bridal Party to find when her assistance was needed. I was truly amazed at all the little details I found out after the fact; even a week after our wedding, my Maid of Honor confessed that she confided in Ashley during a moment of weakness and got the reassurance she needed to give an exemplary toast that everyone enjoyed! I would definitely recommend her services to anyone I know getting married or having any sort of large event requiring expert guidance and detailed efficiency. In fact, one of the members of our Bridal Party has already connected with her and we are thrilled to see her in action again on their wedding day!"
