On this day, exactly 1 year ago, Festoons and Flourishes coordinated one of the sweetest and most heart-filled Weddings we have ever had the pleasure of being part of.
Rachael and Edward Sitarek are honestly two of the most genuine, kind and down-to-earth people you will ever meet (if you are lucky enough to do so)...and you can tell right away just how much they love each other (which if you didn't know, is a whole lot). So it was only fitting that God and Mother Nature conspired on the 6th of June 2015 to give these two love birds one of most beautiful and sun-filled days to tie the knot.
Rachael and Edward, surrounded by their Bridesmaids and Groomsmen spent the beginning of day primping and preening at the Church, getting ready for the events to come. The Bride, dressed in a flowing white gown (perfect for twirling) accented by a gorgeous sparkling belt was a vision of old-world glamour, standing out in bright contrast from her Bridesmaids who wore elegant black cocktail dresses. The Groom however, decided to stand out in color, donning a teal vest and tie, while the Groomsmen coordinated with the Bridesmaids, dressing all in black.
With excitement building amongst the Bridal Party, guests had begun to arrive at the quaint First Presbyterian Church of South Lyon...a beautiful romanesque brick church built in the late 1800's. Family and friends alike watched in anticipation as the processional made its way to the altar, the Groom standing in awe as he watched his Bride walk down the aisle. A short and sweet Ceremony, beautiful vows and a grand exit made by the couple (complete with a fury of ribbon wands) was the perfect start to the day...and a great intro for the festivities to come.
The Reception, held at the American Spirit Center in Brighton, was a gorgeous mix of classic white and bright teal blue. The room itself was bathed in blue light, while table upon table of teal linens led directly to the large, lifted Head tables...backlit and draped with soft white chiffon and glowing twinkle lights. But the best part of the Reception wasn't the decor or the dancing late into the evening...it was actually a surprise the Groom had in store for the Bride. Little did we know (until he informed us of his plot the night before the Wedding), Edward can definitely dance...so he decided to put those amazing skills on display, choreographing and surprising his new Bride with a dance inspired by Michael Jackson, complete with sequins glove. Dang, he can move. :)
Where are they now?
Rachael and Edward live with their two adorable dachshunds, Dash and Reo in the Brighton area. Often found outside, these two humans and their furry family are constantly laughing, surrounding themselves with friends and family and enjoying life to the fullest.
Rachael and Edward, I wish you a very happy first anniversary! It is hard to believe that you have been married a year already...and we are so honored that we were included on such an incredible and important day in your lives. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, lots of dogs and a beautiful forever spent together.
